General

Who can participate?
“Plants and People” conferences are organized by PhD students. We would like to encourage the participation of our peers – PhD students and junior researchers, but everyone is welcome to attend.

Can I present my own research at Plants and People 2023?
Yes, you have the opportunity to present and discuss your research during our poster sessions. Please register for a poster and submit your poster abstract by 31 July. More information about the poster sessions, how to submit the poster abstract, poster size etc. can be found at 'Poster Sessions'.

Is Plants and People 2023 a hybrid event?
Our conference is an in-person event. It is not possible to attend online.

What is included in my registration?
We do not charge a registration fee. The registration includes attendance of the scientific program and coffee breaks/refreshments. Note that lunch and other meals are not included in the registration. If you register for participation in the BBQ on the second day, we will collect a contribution of 10 EUR on site.

Where can I go for lunch during the conference?
You can have lunch at the canteen on the Max Planck Campus. Payment is done with a charge card for guests that you can get on site (at the end of the conference, you can return this card and get any remaining money back). Located close-by, with the option for payments in cash, is the canteen ("Mensa") on the University of Potsdam's Golm Campus (15 min walk). Moreover, the REWE supermarket (12 min walk) offers a wide range of food choices including salads and sushi alongside a bakery.
