Dörthe Dräger

After her studies of agricultural biology at the Hohenheim University, she started her Ph.D. at the MPI in Golm in the research group of Dr. Ute Krämer in December 2004. In her project she studied the molecular and genetic mechanisms of heavy metal tolerance in a wild Arabidopsis species. Following up on her Ph.D. she spent 3 years (2005-2007) as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Georgia, USA, in the lab of Dr. Steven Knapp focusing on molecular breeding in sunflower.

At the beginning of 2008 she returned to Europe to work as the tomato pre-breeder at Rijk Zwaan. In May 2014, she had the possibility to change department within the company. She is now working as a researcher in the department of Quantitative Genetics.
